One of three instantly recognised high back Mackintosh chairs, original designed as a pair for the master bedroom in the Hill House. The original chairs finished in a black lacquer stood out prominently against the white decoration and furnishings in the bedroom. The original ladderback chairs can still be seen today in the main bedroom of the Hillhouse in Helensburgh.

Much like the original pieces, my reproduction chairs are very fine and are recommended only as ornamental additions to a room setting. I offer these reproductions in a black lacquer, dark or golden oak finish.

Mackintosh designed this chair for Walter Blackie. The original Ladder Back chairs can still be seen in their original setting in the main bedroom of the Hill House, Helensburgh.
