Billiards Room Chair
Originally designed and used in both the Smoking and Billiards Room at the Argyle Street Tearooms. Mackintosh also designed a high ladder back version of this chair. Taking sizes from Mackintosh’s drawings and viewing an original on display at Glasgow Kelvingrove Art Galleries. My first Billiards Room Chair was made as part of his contribution for the Mackintosh Exhibition in Port Vendres, France (Summer 2004).
Several other chairs of this type have been commissioned as one off items or for use as desk chair. Individually made by hand in European Oak, the Argyle Chair is available in a golden, dark oak or black lacquer finish.
You recently made me an Ingram high back chair which was for my wife’s 60th birthday. I would just like to say how pleased I am with it. Not only are we pleased with the chair, but we are both impressed with your skills as a craftsman. Once again thanks for a great job, and thanks for making her birthday so special.
